Every Season is Joyful When You Sing

What better way to kick off a season filled with song, than to spend an evening singing together? Drawing on a cherished Christmas memory of CBC’s storied “Sing-in” in Montreal, artistic director Kathrin Welte has baked up a delectable assortment of choral works, and lovingly sprinkled them with opportunities for the audience to join in. In amongst the haunting polyphony of Palestrina, the complex depth of Max Reger, and the masterful chord structures and emotion of contemporary composers like Will Todd and Paul Mealor, Bel Canto is inviting its listeners to sing along with some of the best-loved seasonal carols from the likes of Handel, Wilcox, Mendelssohn, Wesley, and Irving Berlin.
