The Cathedral Singers was formed by Neil Houlton, then Organist and Choirmaster of Christ Church Cathedral in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Fifty years, one name change and now eight directors later, The Bel Canto Singers continue a tradition of bringing excellence in choral performance to audiences through the exploration of works spanning the traditional to the experimental, and from ancient to modern. An auditioned choir, members pay a nominal tuition for operating expenses, meet once a week from September to June, and perform in the fall/winter and spring.
